Editing/Regenerating Your Character

How to Edit or Regenerate Your Character’s Look

  1. Go to your Character List and select the character you want to edit.

  1. You will have two options: Regenerate or Edit.

  • Selecting Regenerate will completely change your character’s image based on its structured prompt — essentially a full redesign.
    • Once you click Regenerate, a box will appear.

If you have a specific look in mind, describe it under Custom Directions.

      You may also:

      • Select an existing version (if available) as a visual reference, and/or
      • Upload a reference image to guide the new generation.
    • After setting your preferences, click Regenerate.

  • ✏️ Edit

Choosing Edit allows you to make minor adjustments to the current version, such as changing the hair color, skin tone, or other small visual details.

    • You can use existing versions (if available) or upload a reference image to guide the edit.
    • Once you’ve specified your desired changes, click Edit to apply them.

  1. Once done, click Save.

Note:

Merge Characters, Objects, and Settings in Director’s Notes

A new feature now allows users to merge duplicate characters, settings, or objects within the Director’s Notes. This resolves the issue of the Movie Machine creating multiple versions of the same character or element.

  • To merge, open the item you want to combine, click Merge, and select the other version.
  • The system keeps all associated images but consolidates them into a single entity.
  • Once merged, any edits or updates made to that character, object, or setting will automatically apply throughout the storyboard.

Physical Appearance for Characters

Improvements have been made to help users fine-tune character looks.

  • Editing the physical description of a character in the Director’s Notes now yields more accurate visual updates.
  • Further enhancements to character customization are actively being developed.
