Vertical vs. Horizontal Films

In filmmaking, aspect ratio refers to the dimensions of your video:

  • Vertical: 9:16 (taller than it is wide), ideal for phones and platforms like TikTok or Instagram Reels.
  • Horizontal: 16:9 (wider than it is tall), standard for TVs, YouTube, and most cinematic content.

Currently, Creatorwood supports horizontal filmmaking only inside the Movie Machine. You can still upload vertical videos to the Streaming Platform, but they will need to be cropped to fit the horizontal frame.

We’re actively monitoring AI model improvements and plan to add native vertical filmmaking support as soon as the technology allows. This will make it possible to create content perfectly optimized for mobile viewing without cropping.
